I am a professional historian with a 35+ years scholary track record. Skilled in historical research: analysing, writing, editing, presenting and lecturing. I am also an experienced advisor in the heritage sector.
I started with a PhD in Social Science History from the University of Utrecht and gained more than 30 years experience at the University of Groningen of which I currently am a professor emeritus.
Being a historian is more than work. It is a fascination I earn money with...
Belangstelling voor het verleden is meer dan werk. Het is een fascinatie waar ik veel tijd aanbesteed.
November 2021 I retired as professor in economic, social and regional history.
For the occasion this book was published: Elles Bulder, Marijn Molema en Vincent Tassenaar (red.), Spitten in de economische, sociale en regionale geschiedenis (Hilversum, Verloren 2021). It is filled with 16 exciting new essays, written by colleagues from the Netherlands and China.
I am extremely honered.
